Kayra Madre Öküzgözü-Boğazkere
Kayra Madre is a fortified wine produced using the same method for producing Maderia wines produced in Maderia Island in Portugal. During fermentation of this coupage wine made from Öküzgözü and Boğazkere grapes, grape distillate (alcohol) is added to wine and fermentation is interrupted and transformation of its natural sugar to alcohol anymore is prevented. This way, a sweet and high alcohol wine is obtained. Kayra Madre gains a more dense and bodied character upon being aged in French oaken barrels under sun.
This rich wine has raisin, chocolate coated orange zest, caramel, roasted almond, fresh coffee, vanillin, dried fig and dried plum noses. Kayra Madre has a dense body, definite acidity, is very sweet and has a long lasting taste in mouth. It does not spoil when contacts with air after opening and can be preserved in the covered bottle. Can be consumed in extended periods. It does not need to be preserved horizontally.
Suggested serving temperature is 17°C in fortified wine glasses.
