ELAZIĞ

1)The Elazığ wine production facility of Kayra is the only wine facility located at the very eastern part of Turkey and therefore the closest to the homeland of wine.

2) Kayra’s Elazığ facility is Turkey’s most eastward wine production facility and this allows Kayra to approach to the homeland of wine.

3) There is no other wine production facility than that of Kayra, which stands at the very eastern part of Turkey; so close to the homeland of wine.

Öküzgözü and Boğazkere grapes that are being processed at the Elazığ production facility are among the most important power agents of Kayra and bound Turkey to its past culture. The opportunity of processing both grapes on site, facilitate the several R&D activities on both varieties and help us produce wines which will reveal their strong characters. The production facility in Elazığ which was established as a small workshop in 1942 was converted into a big plant in 1944. The inital production capacity was then 1.16 million litres. Today, the facility dedicated entirely to red wine production, produces 4.794.000 litres/year and embraces a cellar of 500 barrels, reserved for the ageing of special wines. The Öküzgözü and Boğazkere grapes that are being grown in Elazığ and Diyarbakır Regions are being processed at this facility.
